The industrial scale and form of buildings inspired a School of Industrial Design on the site. The structure and form of the existing buildings allowed the new program. An adaptive reuse strategy was adopted. The riverfront, creek and hill were connected as an ecological corridor, for bicycle and pedestrian connections.
